Antton Irusta nació en Bilbao en 1963. Después de estudiar en los pasionistas de Euba, estudió magisterio en el seminario de Derio y en Deusto Filología Vasca.
Hoy en día trbaja en la ikastola Urretxindorra y está escribiendo la tesis sobre cuenta cuentos. En la televisión, Canal Bizkaia, hace el programa "Kontu Kontari"
